Afgevaardigde: de enige verplichte administratieve vertegenwoordiger van de club op een wedstrijd.  De schakel tussen de zwemmer / trainer en de kamprechter / organisator van de wedstrijd.

Aflossing: een snelheidswedstrijd in teamverband waarbij vier zwemmers achtereenvolgens elk een gelijk deel van de totale afstand afleggen.

​

B(J)K: Belgisch (jeugd) kampioenschap is een limietenwedstrijd georganiseerd door de KBZB. Hier bestaan verschillende categorieën: 11-16 jaar, 17+, open.  Hier wordt gestreden voor de titel 'Belgisch kampioen'.

Besttijd: een persoonlijk record of personal best (PB) is de snelste tijd die een zwemmer heeft neergezet voor een bepaald nummer. 

CV-nummer: Een competitievergunning is een registratienummer waarmee de zwemmer kan deelnemen aan wedstrijden.

CVB: Criterium Vlaams-Brabant, het officieel provinciaal circuit. Deze wedstrijden worden allemaal binnen de provinciegrenzen gezwommen.
